Munirka has always lacked an organized eye care facility which is true till to date. Dr. Kapoor always wanted to overcome this handicap but did not get much success in this regard. The first cataract surgery was performed at Daya Memorial in the year 1989-1990 by Dr. Gopal. Thereafter couple of more weredone sporadically. Among those who started ophthalmic OPD’S at Daya Memorial,  were Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, who also did couple of free camps at the site where MCD multilevel parking stands today, but all this was for a brief period of time due to lack of facility and funds.

It was towards the end of 2015 that Dr. ShaliniKumari, the present ophthalmologist took up the challenge and is running her regular OPD’S, 2 hours in the evening, and doing operative work in collaboration with i7 centre in Lajpat Nagar. Her special interest as usual is operative work but she efficiently runs her general eye clinic with just a slit lamp, a view box and a trial set, on the level 2 of the building. Her consultation fee is probably the least in today’s scenario. Her dedication is admirable. Her briefs are as under:-
